The workshop is open to everyone.
In this workshop, the participants will experience Helsinki through sound in a playful and improvisatory manner. They will join the city’s soundscape both as listeners and as active sound creators.
During the workshop a team of artists and researchers will guide you in how to use a custom-made mobile app for the recording and playback of sounds. They will lead an outdoor walk involving listening, recording, and playback and invite you to share your thoughts and experiences around a hot drink and pulla. The walk will last approximately 30 minutes and the entire workshop 2 hours.
The workshop is intended for everyone, and no prior training in audio is necessary. The workshop's main language will be English, but live translation into Finnish can be provided if necessary.
The participants will need to bring their phones or tablets with an internet connection. Optionally, you can bring your own Bluetooth speaker, if you happen to have one. Also, do bring warm clothes for the outdoor walk.
